The nearest job is not always the closest one.

A vacancy two miles away that wants a package you have never touched is further from you than one sixty miles away you could start on Monday. So we measure both: how far it is, and what stands between you and it.

And then we help you close the gap. You cannot move the factory. You can learn the one thing it asks for that you have not got, and that is almost always the longer distance of the two.

We use it to measure distance and then forget it. The first part is enough.

What can you already use?

Distances are straight-line miles from your postcode to the town in the advert, measured against the 104 vacancies we hold row-level detail for, read on 12 September 2026. They are not travel times. For context on what counts as a reasonable journey: Ninety minutes each way is the Universal Credit jobsearch standard, the furthest a claimant can be required to travel to work. It is a policy limit, not a measure of what is reasonable.
